The CTBTO welcomes WiN IAEA members to come and learn about the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) and its verification system, including:

-          Brown bag lunch: Overview of the CTBT (Elizabeth Abela Hampel, External Relations Officer)

-          Tour of the rooftop radionuclide and noble gas monitoring station (more information here)

-          Operations Centre (more information here)

The CTBT bans nuclear explosions by everyone, everywhere: on the Earth’s surface, in the atmosphere, underwater and underground. The International Monitoring System (IMS) will, when complete, consist of 337 facilities worldwide to verify the Treaty, using seismic, hydroacoustic, infrasound and radionuclide monitoring technologies.
